Hunters and landowners participating in the Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) this upcoming hunting season will not only see some new rules and changes for this year’s program, they will also welcome the debut of a  “Landowner of the Year” (LOTY) Awards program. The prestigious LOTY Awards will recognize the important contributions that Texas private landowners make to wildlife and habitat conservation, as well as recognize their perpetual commitment to our hunting heritage.

Texas Big Game Awards to Feature
New Rules Changes for the 2011-2012 season
Hunters and landowners participating in the Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) this upcoming hunting season will see some new rules and changes for this year’s program, including the creation of low-fence and high-fence categories for white-tailed deer and mule deer. 
The TBGA is a free, certificate-based program with the purpose of creating awareness of the important role that ethical hunting and sound habitat management play in the lives of our young people and to the ecosystem over which we must be responsible stewards. TBGA Texas Slam Award
The Texas Slam is an award given to any hunter who harvest all three TBGA "Scored Entry" species (white-tailed deer, mule deer, and pronghorn antelope) in the same season meeting the minimum regional scoring requirements where each animal was taken. Each hunter and landowner for where the animals were taken will receive a special Texas Slam award during the TBGA statewide awards ceremony held in conjunction with TWA's annual convention each June in San Antonio.
